Pathway to Success is a highly selective program tailored for select BTE alumni, aimed at equipping emerging professionals for successful transitions from high school to college and eventually from college to a career. A crucial aspect of the program is to increase the number of young people, especially first-generation college students, who graduate on time with a degree or certificate and have at least one full-time internship experience under their belt. Throughout the Pathways experience, participants engage in various workplace readiness and professional development workshops that focus on building a professional portfolio, mastering behavioral-based interviews, and effectively navigating the job search process to secure professional positions.
This year, Johnson & Johnson and FHI 360 are proud to announce that three Pathways participants have successfully earned 10-week, paid, full-time internships that align with their professional aspirations. Meet our 2024 Interns:
Eva H. is currently an intern for Senator Joseph Cryan with the New Jersey 20th Legislative District. Her responsibilities include researching bills, observing legislative hearings, and assisting Councilwoman Petra Gaskins with compiling lists of organizations and events in the New Brunswick Area.
Olga G. is currently a Corporate Business Technology (CBT) Intern for Johnson & Johnson Technology with the CBT and Global Corporate Affairs (GCA) teams. Her responsibilities include contributing to a Proof of Concept (POC) for the GCA Data Hub by exploring the transition from Informatica to Microsoft Fabric, a new data analytics and business intelligence platform. Through this project, she is developing her skills in project management (JIRA and MS Planner), data management, and business intelligence tools (Fabric and Power BI) while also gaining valuable experience in project coordination as the Co-President of the Technology Intern Co-Op Council (TICC).
Zamira S. is currently a Digital Marketing Intern with Johnson & Johnson’s Digital Experiences team, a product management organization that provides purpose-driven and science-backed products and services to consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, and customers around the world. She is working closely with the Janssen Experience Platform Team to help support and build out Next-gen, a composable digital experiences platform.
Throughout the internship experience, interns and hiring managers are provided with weekly check-ins with Pathways program managers to discuss their projects, challenges, and new learning opportunities in the effort to ensure a successful experience for all. Each Pathways participant is also has the opportunity to individually connect with J&J’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) leads to learn more about their program offerings, which include practical, real-world business experiences that further develop their leadership and functional skillsets. As this year’s cohort is about to enter their final year of their undergraduate career, they will also have the opportunity to participate in a customized summer workshop focused on their individual post-graduate planning to ensure their successful transition into the workforce or graduate level education.
On behalf of Johnson & Johnson and FHI 360, congratulations to this year’s Pathways summer interns! We look forward to hearing all about your experiences at your final internship showcase later this summer!
