Camryn proudly represented her community, Phoenixville, PA, USA, at ABTS 2018 as a student ambassador. At the conference in Lisbon, Portugal, she learned about Intercultural Fluency and earned a digital badge in the subject. She practiced her skills in the ABTS challenge, in which she worked with other student ambassadors to create an engaging STEM2D demonstration that would encourage students to take up STEM2D subjects. Her team won this challenge. Here’s what she said about BTE and the experience at ABTS:

My Favorite BTE memory is…

My favorite BTE memory is when I went to Portugal and met so many new people. I made a few new friends who I will forever remember and talk to. The trip to Portugal made me realize that there is so much out there in the world to see and so many people to meet.

To me, BTE has meant…

To me, BTE has helped me start to figure out what I want to do in my life. It has opened my eyes to different options, but has also helped me understand that it is okay to not know what I want to do right now. Because I don’t know what I want to in regards to college, they are helping me decide.

The most important thing I will take away from BTE is…

The most important thing I will take away from BTE is the friends. In this program I have been pushed to talk to many different people who I never thought I would. And from being pushed so much, I have formed connections with people and created some friendships that will last a lifetime.

I wanted to come to ABTS because…

I was interested in attending the ABTS because I felt that this would be a great experience to have. It would be so fun to travel and make new friends from around the world.

Thanks to my time in BTE and at ABTS, in the future I will…

I really want to say thank you to BTE for choosing me for the program. If this wasn’t a thing or I wasn’t a part of it, I don’t think I would be where I am today. Also a huge thank you to the BTE program for sending me to Portugal. It was such a great experience and I really enjoyed my time seeing so many different people and learning about different cultures. In the future I will go to college to further my education. I will also be travelling the world to make sure I get a chance to see all the different cultures I can possibly see.
