BTE Student Stories
Our #B2ESiteSpotlight for November is BTE-Bracknell! BTE-Bracknell is a partnership between My Kinda Future, Johnson & Johnson UK, Ethicon, and Easthampstead Park Community School. The program launched in Fall of 2018 with nearly 60 students! Here are some highlights from their first few months:
July Launch: Parents, students, teachers and volunteers all came together for a BBQ and introductions at Pinewood.
Their launch included a networking and board games session with the volunteers and students at the school. Everyone got to know eachother, and collectively they selected the theme of their program: Empowerment.
Sept Experiential Session:Volunteers introduced students to work across the Johnson & Johnson companies including Energy, Biopatch/Stapling Devices, Cerenovus, Trauma and Vision Care.
Oct Academic Enrichment (AE): In October, volunteers, My Kinda Future staff, and students studied communication and held a debate on social media’s effect on mental health.
Nov Guest Lecture: In November, a specialist from McLaren spoke to the students about how STEM impacted their career and current job! The students learned what it takes to build the F1 cars people love.
