Four Johnson & Johnson local operating companies (Janssen Cilag, Johnson & Johnson, Johnson & Johnson Medical, and LifeScan) in partnership with the Fundacion Tomillo launched a BTE program in Madrid, Spain in an effort to alleviate the social, educational, and economic inequalities among Spain’s at-risk youth.
The BTE-Madrid program targeted 50 students, between the ages of 16 and 22 years old, enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant and Pharmaceutical Aid programs (Middle Vocational Training grades) at IES Leonardo da Vinci, IES Prado de Santo Domingo, and IES Villaverde. BTE students participated in a range of activities including:
- Technical skills training
- Tutoring classes
- Personal development workshops
- Networking activities
- Johnson & Johnson guest lectures
- Internships
- Educational and labor guidance
- Employment intermediation and job placement
