In February 2017, Johnson & Johnson Medical New Zealand, Brothers in Arms, and James Cook High School launched a BTE program for 50 youth (tenth graders in school year 2017) in Auckland, New Zealand. Throughout the three-year program, the partners provided a variety of academic enrichment, career exploration, and higher education preparation opportunities, including:

  • Wednesday Workshops, with a holistic youth development practice underpinning the planning and facilitation, focused on; academic enrichment, career awareness & readiness, and higher education preparation & exploration.
  • AUT sessions provided knowledge, information and experience about post-secondary life and opportunities.
  • J&J mentoring
  • J&J exposure days where students learned about orthopedics and pharmaceuticals and the math and science application in those types of careers.
  • Parent engagement workshops
