Johnson & Johnson UK has won the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award in the 2013 Scottish Business Awards – the biggest and most prestigious cross industry business award programmes in the UK.

The CSR team was presented with the Award at a ceremony in Edinburgh on Friday 21 June with special guest President Bill Clinton, delivering the key note speech where he commented on the `need for corporations to focus on more than just their responsibility to shareholders and to focus on customers, employees and communities as well’ and calling for the need `to create a culture of innovation and rapid application’.

“This is the first time we have entered this Award, a cross-sector team effort between UK CSR, Johnson & Johnson Medical in Livingston and LifeScan Scotland in Inverness and we are delighted to have won,” explains Rhoda Steel, UK CSR Lead. “Our Vision is to transform lives in under-served communities through our business expertise in healthcare, wellbeing and science and we are committed to making a difference to people’s lives across the whole of the UK. Thank you to our community partners and everyone at Johnson & Johnson who has played a part in helping to make this CSR vision a reality.” Says Josh Littlejohn, CEO, Scottish Business Awards, “The Awards were the biggest business event in Scottish history and the biggest dinner in Scotland in over 400 years. All of the companies that took part deserve great commendation for being so integral to Scotland’s economy and to job creation. Congratulations to Johnson & Johnson for winning the Corporate Social Responsibility category, one of the most competitive and prestigious categories at the Awards.”

Adds Willie Printie, MD LifeScan Scotland and UK CSR Chairman. “We are extremely proud to receive this Award which reflects the impact that Our Credo has on the way we operate our businesses and how we interact with society as a whole.”
