  • About the College Boot Camp

  • The Pathways boot camp is a rigorous, three-day training that will run from Monday, July 24 - Wednesday, July 26. These full-day sessions will take place in-person and will include hybrid components allowing participants to connect with BTE alumni from across the country. The primary focus of the boot camp is to help you prepare for your freshman year of college this fall. You will gain answers to burning questions and learn strategies for overcoming initial campus life challenges, such as: how to connect with peers, decode a syllabus, self-advocate, access college resources, communicate with faculty and advisors, and improve financial literacy. You will also have the chance to explore and discuss the differences between the academic and social expectations of high school versus college.

Learning sessions will focus on time management, organizational strategies, effective study strategies, and mental health. The Rutgers Student Affairs department will collaborate during this series and host their Got Stress? Workshop, where you will learn the most common sources of stress for college students and tools for effectively dealing with stress. Topics will include mindful meditation skills and resources available on college campuses.
