In 2025, BTE Atlanta continued to support students as they prepare for their postsecondary journeys through sustained mentoring, exposure to college pathways, and hands-on STEM learning experiences. This quarter, the site built on strong summer momentum, offering ongoing virtual mentoring and career coaching that carried over into the academic year.

Throughout the summer months, Johnson & Johnson champions provided consistent guidance to students as they explored college and career readiness topics. These mentoring sessions remained a central component of the program as students returned to school, reinforcing BTE Atlanta’s commitment to long-term, relationship-driven support for students. With 37 students enrolled, the site focused on meeting students where they are as they begin making decisions about their futures.

A highlight of the quarter was an in-person undergraduate panel, where BTE students engaged directly with college students who shared honest insights about campus life, academic expectations, and strategies for navigating the transition to postsecondary education. Students asked thoughtful questions and participated in extended discussions, gaining practical advice to support their own plans.

September was marked by a fun student trip to Tennessee, where students had the unique opportunity to participate in a campus tour at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, followed by a STEM-focused visit to Ruby Falls. The immersive experience introduced students to geology, environmental science, and Earth systems through guided exploration of the underground cave and waterfall. Twenty-five BTE students participated, learning about weathering, erosion, and the interconnectedness of natural systems in an engaging and fun setting. As one student shared, “Ruby Falls was super cool! I have not seen anything like that before.”

Throughout the quarter, BTE Atlanta supported students with college applications, financial aid discussions, and financial literacy workshops. While many students are preparing for college, the site also recognizes and supports alternative pathways, including trade school and military options. As seniors, students have demonstrated increased focus and motivation, approaching their next steps with greater intention and drive.

With upcoming activities such as STEM Day at the Georgia Aquarium, BTE Atlanta continues to deliver experiences that blend academic preparation, career exploration, and real-world learning. BTE is proud to support the students of Atlanta as they work toward their goals and prepare for the opportunities ahead.
