On January 12, 2016, Johnson & Johnson in partnership with Johnson & Johnson UK, Janssen, DePuy Synthes, Young Enterprise UK, Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), and Highcrest Academy launched a BTE program in the High Wycombe, UK community.
During this three-year program, 50 Year 10 students attending Highcrest Academy in school year 2015-2016 were exposed to a variety of programs, events, and activities involving Academic Enrichment, Higher Education Exploration & Preparation, and Career Exploration and Readiness. The program aimed to educate and inspire BTE students, as well as impart key skills that are the foundations of future success in the workplace – resilience, teamwork, communication, leadership, critical thinking, and problem solving. Specifically, students will participate in:
- Academic Tutoring Sessions
- Work Readiness Sessions - Educational Pathway Masterclasses and Person Finance Course
- Company Visits and Job Shadowing
- Career Coaching
- Applied Learning Project
- Higher Education Tours
- University Exam Tutoring
- University Admission Support
The BTE High Wycombe program has continued to sustained their model in the High Wycombe community since 2019 and has worked with over six Highcrest Academy cohorts in partnership with Janssen and 7 Elements Global Limited.
