In August 2022, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals, Jump Foundation!, and Phra Khanong Pittayalai School launched a Bridge to Employment (BTE) program in Bangkok, Thailand.
Targeting 50 grade 10 students enrolled in Phra Khanong Pittayalai School, the three-year program will provide a variety of academic enrichment, career exploration, and higher education preparation opportunities in order to increase the number of young people completing higher education and pursuing STEM careers. Specific program activities and support will be implemented throughout each program year to ensure students meet the designed yearly short-term outcomes.
Key activities include:
Students will complete the Birkman career assessment, as well as develop an Education & Career Plan. They will also have an opportunity to complete an applied learning project.
Youth will engage in research lab workshops, higher education tours, as well as receive post-secondary exam preparation.
Youth will have the opportunity to visit Johnson & Johnson and experience company tours, engage in career exploration workshops, participate in a live surgery experience, as well as partake in career panels and guest speaker sessions.
Students will participate in a Credo workshop, community discovery activities, cross-site experience, as well as have the chance to apply for the global ABTS Student Ambassador and Youth Leadership Councils.
By the end of the program (July 2025), the BTE Bangkok, Thailand program will achieve the following:
90% of BTE participants complete the three-year program.
85% of BTE graduates are accepted to post-secondary education, with 70% enrolling at a 4-year university.
70% of BTE graduates plan to pursue a STEM2D-related career.
90% of BTE graduates plan to pursue a STEM2D-related career.
