  • About the Scholarship

  • Johnson & Johnson is pleased to provide a select number of scholarships to upcoming Bridge to Employment (BTE) graduates pursuing higher education and majoring in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics, manufacturing, design (STEM2D) or health-related area of study. A committee comprised of representatives from Johnson & Johnson Corporate and FHI 360 will make scholarship selections.

  • Eligibility and Criteria

  • • Applicants must have completed the three-year BTE program.

    • Applicants must be eligible for graduation from secondary school in Fall 2023.

    • Applicants must have accepted an admission offer from an institution of higher education or plan to be a full-time student at a community college, technical college, or other post-secondary training program for the 2024 semester.

    • Preference will be given to students majoring in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Manufacturing, or Design (STEM2D) or health-related field of study.

    • Awards will be given only once.

  • Application Requirements

  • Eligible and interested candidates should:

    1. Complete the Application Form, providing all required information. Candidates can submit all application responses in their native language.

    2. Upload a Personal Statement. Candidates must upload a single-spaced, typed (Times New Roman, 12 pt. font), 500-word personal statement describing why you should be selected for this scholarship. Briefly describe the impact the BTE program had on you. Include critical skills and abilities, if any, that you had the opportunity to develop in the BTE program. Explain your academic and career goals and the importance of the BTE program and this scholarship in relation to meeting those goals. Please include your full name at the top of each page of the personal statement.

    3. Upload a Transcript. Candidates must provide a secondary school transcript in order for application to be considered. Candidates can obtain the transcript from their local secondary school. Either an image, a scanned copy, or an electronic file can be uploaded.

    4. Upload Your Resume/CV. Candidates must provide a current professional resume/CV that reflects their participation in the BTE program.

    5. Upload a Professional-Like Photo. Candidates must provide a current headshot-like photo. It is recommended to wear business casual attire.

  • Application Deadline

  • The application package can be submitted at any time but must be uploaded no later than 5:00 PM PST on October 31, 2023.

    Late applications WILL NOT be accepted. Applications can be submitted in students' native language.

    All applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision in November 2023.

    This photo does not need to be a professional headshot, however, it should be professional in nature; this photo will be shared with Johnson & Johnson and may be featured on the BTE website and other social media platforms. It is recommended to wear business casual attire. Preference is for a headshot-like photo, meaning from the shoulders up (not a full-body photo).
  • Consent

  • I agree to allow FHI 360 and/or its partners and/or its funders to reproduce, publish and/or otherwise use pictures and/or videos of me and/or my story in print and electronic formats, including, but not limited to publications, videos, exhibitions, advertisements, promotional or educational materials and on websites and social media (e.g., Facebook, YouTube) that help advance public health and/or other development initiatives in connection with FHI 360
    activities. I understand that my picture, video or story may be reproduced or published in any medium
    without restriction.

    I acknowledge that I will not receive payment or any other compensation for the use of my story or photos, and I release FHI 360, its employees and agents from any and all claims which arise out of or are in any way connected with use as described, in any jurisdiction.
