High Wycombe

Bridge to Employment is proud to spotlight our High Wycombe site! On January 12, 2016, Bridge to Employment officially launched a BTE program in the High Wycombe, United Kingdom community. The program intended to give BTE students inspiration and build on student’s skills in the workplace, and we are proud to share that their program has been a great success!

 

BTE-High Wycombe featured on the Bucks Free Press
In 2017, eleven students from The Highcrest Academy had a chance to visit Johnson & Johnson’s healthcare facility. During their visit, students learned about numerous job roles in multinational companies and were asked to create a marketing campaign. Overall, students particularly, Alex Merrick, reported it was a unique experience and a great learning opportunity (The students’ experiences at Johnson & Johnson were later published in an article in the Bucks Free Press!

ABTS
In 2018, Student Ambassadors Maria Rana and Ruben Magri, represented High Wycombe at the Alliance Building & Training Session (ABTS) in Lisbon, Portugal. During their time, they had an opportunity to build professional networks, work closely with mentors, learn more about the Portuguese culture, build friendships, and earned a digital badge in Intercultural Fluency. They were proud to be representatives and enjoyed the experience!

BTE-High Wycombe Graduation Event
On April 2, 2019, students, families, teachers, and mentors came together to celebrate the graduation and accomplishments of twenty students from Highcrest Academy. During this event, students bonded over their best experiences and personal growth while participating in the program. Film maker, Tallulah Self, and Skeet Shooter, Amber Hill, were featured guest speakers and spoke about their personal success stories, both of whom motivated students towards and empowered them to continue progressing in their journeys. Teachers, mentors, and the families of the graduates believe the students have a bright future and will continue to succeed.
